For their debuts on Bad Medic Records, Sherbrooke, Canada-hailing dubstepper Substance teams up with Maui rapper Nurries for a colossal, all-encompassing 4-track EP.

On show throughout ‘Levels’ is a striking blend between Substance’s hybrid dubstep style - using early-2000s sounds within a modern production context - and Nurries’ animated vocal delivery.

IDGF kicks off the EP in a hypnotic, entrancing way, swelling with each beat as Nurries’ voice dances sharply over the top. Levels brings a more menacing, creeping vibe, as fellow vocalist Grim Sickers is on hand to provide an added fierceness to the project. Accompanying that cut is a Dub Mix version to round off the EP. Track 3 is Elevate, the most spacious and wide-reaching tune of the 4, which has Torbjorn doubling down on vocal directness with his performance.
